Shea GuntherMaher
Attorney at Law
Shea GuntherMaher is an attorney in the Estate Planning division of Goyette Ruano + Thompson (GRT), where she provides client-centered guidance in estate planning, probate, and trust administration. Shea takes pride in crafting estate plans that reflect each client’s unique goals and values, combining compassion with the highest level of service to ensure their legacies are thoughtfully protected.
Before joining GRT, Shea gained invaluable experience at a boutique estate planning firm in Boston, where she managed complex estate settlements, including probate and intestacy proceedings, coordinated ownership succession for closely held businesses, and obtained business valuations to support estate and trust administration. Shea also helped establish and manage private foundations, administered irrevocable life insurance trusts, and liaised with advisors to file income and estate tax returns.
Shea earned her Juris Doctor from New England Law | Boston, where she received a full-tuition merit scholarship, graduated in the top 25% of her class, and was recognized with an Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Award for her advocacy skills as a semi-finalist in the American Mock Trial Association’s regional competitions.
Prior to practicing law, Shea built a successful career in marketing and communications, working with private, government, and nonprofit clients. Managing a wide range of national and local campaigns gave her valuable experience in client service, collaboration, and strategic problem-solving—skills that now inform her approach to legal practice. Shea earned her B.A., cum laude, in Communication Studies from Westmont College in California.
Outside the office, Shea enjoys spending time with family and friends and staying active through trail running, road biking, and swimming.
