In the realm of employment law, Mrs. Gutierrez is well-versed in navigating the complexities of statutes such as the Fair Employment and Housing Act, the California Labor and Health and Safety Code, the Equal Pay Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, and the California Civil Code. Her focus extends to cases involving wrongful termination, whistleblowing, discrimination, retaliation, and harassment across various protected categories. These categories include but are not limited to pregnancy (including related aspects such as breastfeeding, childbirth, post-birth), gender, religion, disability (both physical and mental), race, national origin, age, sexual harassment, and wrongful termination.

In addition to her proficiency in employment law, Mrs. Gutierrez adeptly handles personal injury cases, which include vehicle collisions and wrongful death claims. Furthermore, she possesses an understanding of civil rights violations, particularly focusing on Section 1983 claims and the Bane Act.

Education

Mrs. Gutierrez obtained her Juris Doctorate and embarked on her legal education at the prestigious University of California, Davis, School of Law, fondly referred to as “King Hall” in honor of the renowned civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.  During her academic tenure, she embraced King’s legacy through public service and legal excellence being awarded the King Hall Pro Bono Award and King Hall Public Service Award. Mrs. Gutierrez earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology, Law & Society from the University of California, Irvine.
